Patsy Tyrrell is a visual artist living and working on the Beara Peninsula in West Cork. Tyrrell graduated from NCAD in 2023 with 1st Class Honours, where she studied Sculpture and Expanded Practice.
Through drawing, performance and sculpture Tyrrell dedicates deep attention to the ordinary affects and unseen spaces of everyday experience. Cultivating an art practice while also mothering her now newly toddling daughter has led to work which has within its structure the conditions of care. Time (so intwined with care) in all its variations, interrupted, enduring, fleeting, linear, cyclical, relational, embodied, fragmented, is also embedded in her work.
This is the main event. These small in between moments, slow, soft, quiet, unseen, they make a life.
